The story of Stu and Junk is a most bizarre tale. Both men were raised in the same quiet, gentrified Chicago suburb: Stu on 55th and Fairmount Avenue, Junk on 63rd and Washington Street. Alas, in spite of their close proximity, they attended seperate grade schools (Whittier, Fairmount), middle schools (Herrick, O'Neill), high schools (Downers North, Downers South), and even attended college two miles away from each other (Illinois State, Illinois Wesleyan).
In spite of their similar backgrounds Stu and Junk had never crossed paths, until one fateful day in April 2010. While attending Tara Defrancisco's Level 1 class at iO, the two men struck up a conversation and were absolutely astonished by each other's similar yet parallel lives. Shortly after, Stu vowed that he and Junk would someday form a two-man improv juggernaut, a brilliant proposal hindered by Stu's long commute and Junk's work schedule at Groupon.
Fast forward to 19 months later. The dust has settled, the tides are stagnant, and an eerie calm has cast itself over Wrigleyville and Lakeview. This Tuesday, the juggernaut awakens from its slumber. Stuart Allard and Andy Junk are TWO ASSHOLES FROM DOWNERS GROVE.
